MAG member Leslie Cormack is offering a one-day class in “fiber art” Saturday Feb. 10 (10 am-4pm) at the guild.  Many who saw her demonstration at the January meeting voiced an interest in learning this interesting “art.” The cost is $45 for guild members and $55 for non-members.  Students will be responsible for obtaining their own supplies for the course.  The morning session “needle felting” will require a roll of manufactured felt, a felting needle, a package of colored wool, a felting rubber foam mat (usually 5x8) and scissors.  Leslie will provide the yarn. The afternoon session will be devoted to “wet felting” and you will need a box of saran wrap, a spray bottle, 6 toothpicks, some bubble wrap, scissors,  a whole batch of wool roving  and a piece of rubber (like linoleum) or plastic which can be rolled. (Leslie says the plastic mats in the kitchen section of the dollar stores work great.).   All supplies can be found at Hobby Lobby, the sewing shop at “The Farm” shopping center in Tulsa, Paradise Fiber.com or Sara Fina Fibers.com.  If you have questions call Leslie (918)348-6347 and you can sign up this week at the art guild.
