2021 MAG Annual Judged Open Show a Big Success!

This year, our Annual Judged Open Show was mounted in conjunction with the bi-annual Oklahoma Arts Conference, October 27–29, 2021, at the Muskogee Civic Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma. We had over 130 entries, professionally displayed at the entry to the Civic Center arena. The opening reception was attended by a big crowd of artists, patrons, and collectors.

MANY THANKS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS:
DeAnn McDaniel, exhibit chair, who organized the whole affair
Terri Postlethwaite, who assisted DeAnn with registration and sales
Wren Stratton, treasurer, who handled monetary transactions and awards
Jennifer Moore, who set up a beautiful reception table
Gigi Webb and volunteers who hung the show
Becky Lucht and volunteers that brought the panels from storage to and from the Civic Center
And many more volunteers that helped set up, man, and take-down of the show

MANY THANKS TO OUR JUDGES:
Jason Wilson, Contemporary Perceptual Artist. Wilson graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with an art education degree and has been been teaching for 25 years in Oklahoma—16 years at Seminole, and 9 years at Hartshorne. Wilson has had over 30 solo shows, countless exhibition and events, and appeared in magazines and newspapers.
Gary Moeller, Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts at Rogers State University. Moeller began teaching art at the university in 1979, along the way holding several administrative positions, including department head for the Department of Fine Arts. Upon his May 2018 retirement, he was given his current title. An accomplished artist in his own right, his works have been exhibited in galleries and museums across the nation.

MANY THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS:
THE BANK OF OKLAHOMA, Oklahoma Arts Council, Muskogee Area Arts Council, Pecan Creek Winery, and to the City of Muskogee for their assistance in setup and take down of the show, and for the space in the Civic Center.
